I provide a joyful and effortless photographic experience to brides and grooms, couples, families, and parents-to-be! When I'm not creating timeless imagery, you can find me updating my first home with my other half, Tyler, or binge-watching Netflix with a bowl of popcorn nearby.
They first met 10 years ago in their first year of University. It wasn’t until their final year when working as bartenders at the University bar that Mitch and Gen started dating. It seemed those $10 pitchers of beer and mouth-watering poutine continued to bring them closer!
In June of 2018, on their first day in Europe, Mitch and Gen were in their AirBnB in Lisbon. That’s when Mitch went down on one knee and asked Gen to be his wife!! The proposal was intimate and very special. He proposed on Gen’s mom’s birthday with a custom-made ring containing her grandmother’s diamond! They proceeded to celebrate their engagement over the remainder of their trip in Portugal and Spain!
After Gen and I spoke back and forth through email following her initial inquiry, I just knew I HAD to work with her and Mitch! I love their love for travelling, and I found their proposal story so DREAMY!
Aside from being newly engaged, they are also new cottage owners! When Gen asked about having their engagement photos captured at their cottage, I just HAD to do it! What better way to start documenting this new season of their life than at their first major purchase since getting engaged?!
On Saturday, I drove 2 hours north to the Burk’s Falls area to meet up with Mitch and Gen. I was so glad to finally meet them and hang out with them for the afternoon! We connected right away – it was great!
We started with some cozy indoor photos in their living room. Then, we went outside for a couple minutes to capture them in their outdoor Muskoka Room! After they changed into warmer clothes for the elements, we went down to their dock and continued capturing gorgeous photos on the frozen lake! When we finished, it wasn’t quite golden hour. We still had about 1 hour to go. So, we went back up to the cottage and hung out for an hour where we talked about our travelling adventures and ate popcorn! Golden hour came and so we headed down to the lake again to take a few more photos before we lost the sun!
It was such an honour to be a part of their engagement session. It’s going to be amazing to be a part of their Muskoka wedding in September! I cannot wait!!
