I provide a joyful and effortless photographic experience to brides and grooms, couples, families, and parents-to-be! When I'm not creating timeless imagery, you can find me updating my first home with my other half, Tyler, or binge-watching Netflix with a bowl of popcorn nearby.
Well… I can’t believe it! I’m officially a quarter of a century old. It feels like only yesterday I was riding around on my bicycle playing with the neighbourhood kids! This past Friday, March 1st I turned 25!
For Christmas, Tyler gifted me a ski day pass for Blue Mountain Resort (located outside Collingwood, Ontario) because I have never been skiing before! However, Tyler grew up on ski hills and offered to teach me! We decided to make a weekend out of it and go to Blue Mountain for my birthday.
I spent Friday relaxing and packing for our trip. Afterwards, I headed out to pick up Tyler and our two other friends who joined us for the weekend. We arrived at our accommodation in the evening and began preparing our taco dinner. After dinner, we headed out to Blue Mountain Village for some pints at MJ Byrne’s Irish Pub!
The next day we cooked breakfast and headed to the slopes! I was a bit nervous to start skiing. After I got my rental equipment, Tyler taught me how to get on and off the lift (my first time as well). Then, we headed over to the learner’s hill. I started off pretty good and sturdy. I mainly “pizza-ed” my way down the hill. However, I did end up losing control halfway down and rolled almost the rest of the hill down (with Tyler behind me trying to catch up and stop me). I’m still alive thankfully!!!
I completed two more runs without incident and then I finished for the day. I know… only 3 runs total?! Yup! My legs hurt! More specifically, my shins from the ski boots! Afterwards, we had a small lunch and drinks at Rusty’s in the village, returned the rental equipment, and then headed back to our condo rental.
Once back at our accommodation we relaxed for a bit while we waited for our other two friends to show up so we could head out to dinner. Our friends showed up and we headed back to the Village and had dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant, Tholos! Tyler and I shared the Saganaki for our appetizer. For our mains, I had Chicken Souvlaki while Tyler had the Beef Souvlaki and IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! If you’re ever at Blue Mountain Resort, I HIGHLY recommend eating at Tholos! After dinner, we headed back to the Irish Pub and spent the rest of the night enjoying the live band and drinking plenty!
This birthday weekend was one of my most favourites! I said to Tyler that we should get a season pass next year to our local (and closer) ski hill. I would love to finally have something fun to do every winter! Enjoy the photos below from this past weekend! They were all taken with my cellphone.
Also, here’s a fun photo I took on my birthday while packing!!
